Getafe Coach Cosmin Contra believes Friday night’s game against Cordoba is another final, a week after beating Malaga.
Contra oversaw a precious 1-0 win in El Geta’s last outing, having compared the game to a final in the pre-match build-up.
He has done likewise before playing Cordoba, acknowledging that it’s still early in the season but making no attempt to downplay the fixture.
“When Sunday’s game ended, we were thinking about Cordoba,” Contra said, Marca reports.
“Although it’s only the seventh round, it’s a final. We have to do a good job and not give away chances. It’s another final.
“They are always tough games. I always say the most difficult games are against the teams lower down.”
Contra added that he has been impressed by Cordoba, even though Albert Ferrer’s side have yet to win a game this season.
“Whenever I watched them in the last four games, they always tried to play football,” he commented.
“They have the philosophy of those who have been at Barcelona. They’re a rival club at the bottom so it’s about more than three points.
“They’re a team who play good football. We have to be very careful.”
Getafe will again be without Pedro Leon as the winger’s situation is still yet to be clarified with the LFP and the RFEF.
