Baptistao & Neymar put history aside

Leo Baptistao has said that for the 90 minutes Rayo Vallecano play Barcelona, he and Neymar will forget their long-standing friendship.

Neymar and Baptistao played together at Santos and the Rayo forward confirmed in an interview their friendship has maintained now they are both playing in Spain.

“We started playing together [at youth level in Santos] and we have already played each other in the Supercopa and the League,” he said, AS reports.

“For me it’s another game. He’s going to try to do the best for Barca and I will do the same for Rayo.

“Off the field we’re friends but we’re rivals on it and that’s all.”

The former Atletico Madrid attacker added that even if Rayo were playing a Barca team not at their best, it would still be a struggle.

“Barca, if they’re not good, are still Barca. We know it will be a difficult game,” Bapistao continued.

“But I’ll try to keep my rhythm and score goals to help the team. I don’t feel under pressure and I’m not concerned.

“I want to play well for Rayo and hopefully it’ll be a good game.”
