Dani Alves drops Premier League hint

Dani Alves has dropped the broadest hint yet that he will be moving to the Premier League next season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Barcelona defender told a reporter from prestigious Brazilian newspaper O Globo that “next season I will be playing in England”, without specifying which team’s colours he would be wearing.

Alves was understood to be celebrating a meal at his home with Luciana Froes, a journalist, and photographer Paulo Koga when he revealed the news.

“This is my last season at Barca. I want to play at the home of football,” he is alleged to have said.

It is understood the player’s children, Daniel and Victoria, already speak perfect English, a clear indication that they could be joining their father.

The 31-year-old is separated from their mother, Dinorah Santana, who also acts as his representative.

Alves has spent seven seasons with Barcelona after six years with Sevilla following his arrival from Bahia in his native country.
