Lionel Messi has moved to dismiss speculation over his Argentina future with a public message of support to the national team.
The Barcelona forward missed the midweek win over Germany, a rematch of the World Cup final, and Mundo Deportivo claims there have been questions raised over Messi’s future at international level.
But Messi used his Facebook account to congratulate Argentina on their 4-2 win over Die Mannschaft and to look towards what he sees as a bright future under new Coach Tata Martino.
“[Congratulations to] all my teammates with the national team who participated in the victory against Germany in the first game under the new leadership of Tata,” Messi wrote.
“Sorry I could not be with you this time.
“This team still has a lot to give and can get things going for the future.”
