Liverpool after free agent Valdes

Free agent Victor Valdes could be set for a move to Liverpool, according to reports in the British Press.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper left Camp Nou at the end of last season after his contract with the Blaugrana expired.

The goalkeeper had been set for a switch to Monaco, but after he damaged his cruciate ligament in March, the French outfit pulled out of the deal.

As such, the Spain international is still unattached – but that may not be the case for much longer.

The player’s agent hinted that Valdes would be ‘at a big club before Christmas’, but the Daily Mail believe it could actually be sooner than that.

The paper suggests that Liverpool will table a contract offer to the free agent, but are in no rush as the deadline does not apply to those not attached.
