Ancelotti: Something has to change

Carlo Ancelotti has said Real Madrid can’t go on like they did against Real Sociedad, losing a two-goal lead and being beaten 4-2.

Madrid were clear after little more than 10 minutes but La Real grabbed four goals in reply, each one through some variation of a high ball into the penalty area.

Speaking after the match Ancelotti dismissed the suggestion his side were missing Xabi Alonso, but did say Los Blancos had to improve, and quickly.

“It’s not easy to assess this match. We scored twice. For 30 minutes we were very good,” Marca reports the Coach as saying.

“The rest of the time we were bad and it’s hard to imagine we thought the game was over.

“I’m sorry because I don’t like it when the team doesn’t play so well. We didn’t have a good defensive system to control the two-goal lead.

“It’s not a problem of one player or another. It’s a team that has lost everything after a good half-an-hour.

“This defeat changes nothing in the transfer market. It’s us who have to change, the concentration.

“Something has to change and it will change.”
