Mustafi willing to trust Nuno

Shkodran Mustafi isn’t going to rock the boat at Valencia after starting the season out of Coach Nuno’s starting XI.

Los Che fielded Nico Otamendi and Vezo for the League opener against Sevilla and Mustafi believes the team is at a high level and is willing to respect the decision of the boss.

“Those who are playing are doing very well, at a high level as demonstrated in the Sevilla game,” Marca reports Mustafi as saying.

“The decision lies with the Coach.

“I can play on the right side of defence but my preferred position is in the centre. I’ve played full-back though and if the Coach puts me as the goalkeeper, I’m here to help.”

Germany international Mustafi, who has played in England and Italy, also gave an insight into how he is settling in Spain, particularly with the language barrier.

“It’s complicated. I begin with the language because in my position it is very important to talk a lot,” he went on.

“If my teammates speak slowly in Spanish I will understand quite a few things. Sometimes I tell them in Italian and sometimes in English. But in the end we understand each other pretty well.”
