Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia in a deal worth €41m.
The German defender leaves the Mestalla after a two-year spell in La Liga, where he moved shortly after being part of his country’s World Cup 2014-winning squad.
“He is at the right age,” Gunners manager Arsene Wenger said of the 24-year-old’s arrival in North London.
“He has good experience. He is a very focused player who can play with the ball as well.
“We have taken a great player but have prepared well for the future.”
Mustafi, who made 64 La Liga appearances for Valencia, is Arsenal’s sixth summer signing.
