Marcelo and Alves out for Brazil

Real Madrid’s Marcelo and Barcelona’s Dani Alves have both been left out of new Brazil Coach Dunga’s first squad.

The Selecao will play their first matches since the shambolic end to their World Cup campaign, where they were humiliated 7-1 by Germany in the semi-finals, then swept aside 3-0 by Netherlands in the third-place play-off.

However, the La Liga duo are two of a staggering 13 players included in Luis Felipe Scolari’s squad this summer who have been omitted for the upcoming friendlies with Colombia and Ecuador.

The only two players from Spain’s top flight named by the new man in charge are Barcelona’s Neymar and Atletico Madrid’s Miranda.
