Atletico Madrid’s Toby Alderweireld is wanted by a number of Premier League clubs and Liverpool’s Daniel Agger could replace him, reports claim.
Mundo Deportivo say Agger wants to leave Anfield in search of a regular place as he isn’t likely to get that under Brendan Rodgers.
Barcelona were pursuing the Denmark international but backed away and Atletico have put Agger on their shortlist.
But that’s only if Alderweireld leaves, which he will if the champions receive a fair offer for his services.
Agger isn’t expected to prove an expensive replacement as Liverpool would be willing to let the long-serving centre-back go to get game time.
