Alvaro Arbeloa has claimed that Real Madrid are ‘hungry for trophies’ this season, starting tomorrow in the European Super Cup.
Los Blancos play Sevilla in Cardiff for the first silverware of the campaign, and the defender has insisted that his side are going all-out in six competitions.
“We're hungry for lots of trophies and now we have a chance to win another one, so we mustn't waste it,” he told uefa.com.
“Winning the Champions League is very difficult. We have to keep the bar high.
“We played in the final last year and reached the semi-finals the previous three years and I think that's what we have to aim for.
“Winning it is very tough, but Real should always be there or thereabouts.”
The veteran full-back then commented on last campaign’s La Decima triumph.
“More than relief, above all I felt joy. We had been desperate to win it for a long time.
“We knew what it meant to the club and to all of our fans. Sharing that joy with them is something we will never forget.”
