A sobbing David Luiz has apologised to ‘all Brazilians’ after their humiliation at the hands of Germany.
The hosts were battered by Die Mannschaft 7-1 in the semi-finals this evening, and the defender, who was visibly upset, wanted to say sorry to the entire country.
“We wanted to make the people happy but we couldn't do it. Sorry to all Brazilians,” he told reporters after the game
“Everyone knew how important this was… to see all of Brazil happy.
“They were better than us. It's a day of great sadness.
“It's the end of a dream, and not in the way we wanted. But I will learn from this moment. I'll never give up.”
