Valencia confirm Nuno as Coach

Valencia have appointed Nuno Espirito Santo as the club’s new Coach, replacing Juan Antonio Pizzi, who was sacked this week.

The club’s official website confirms Nuno has signed a one-year contract and will be presented to the Press on Friday afternoon.

Nuno’s contract could be extended by a year depending on the club’s success, the statement adds.

The 40-year-old played for the likes of Deportivo La Coruna, Merida and Osasuna as a goalkeeper, as well as spending time with Dinamo Moscow and Porto.

His only Coaching experience thus far is two years with Rio Ave, between 2012 and 2014, with his team this season finishing as runners-up in both of Portugal’s Cup competitions.

Valencia President Amadeo Salvo will also provide an update on the club’s ownership situation at the Press conference to unveil Nuno.
