Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta says Luis Suarez has shown character and humility to apologise for biting Giorgio Chiellini.
The Uruguayan forward was given a four-month worldwide ban for the offence, committed during his country’s World Cup match with Italy.
The Catalan giants known to be interested in signing the Liverpool target, seemingly regardless of his latest indiscretion, with reports today even suggesting Suarez made the apology on the request of the Blaugrana.
“From my point of view Suarez has had the character and humility to recognise a mistake,” Zubuzarreta said at a Press conference.
“Obviously he made a serious error, but if you never admit you have made a mistake you will never be able to get better.
“At the moment, Luis Suarez is a Liverpool player and that is the reality.”
