Karim Benzema has said that France’s draw with Ecuador proves there are no easy games at the World Cup.
The Real Madrid striker was unable to help Les Bleus past the South Americans but France finished Group E top, and will meet Nigeria in the next round.
Speaking after the match, Benzema said that while he was frustrated with not winning, he and the rest of the squad are pleased to have finished in first place in the group.
“It was difficult but we didn’t lose,” AS reports Benzema as saying.
“We are through and that’s what matters most. We’re happy and satisfied.
“We’ve seen that there is no easy opponent and less so in a World Cup, which has been proven here.
“Now everything depends on that attitude that we speak of. We know that any team can be difficult and there’s no room for mistakes in the next round.”
