Iran captain Javad Nekounam has warned against believing that Lionel Messi is the only Argentina player who can hurt his side.
The countries meet in Group F on Saturday and Nekounam, now of Kuwait SC but formerly with Osasuna, has admitted the South Americans should win.
“On Saturday we face the favourite to win the match and the group,” Marca reports the midfielder as saying.
“We’ll try to do well but if it doesn’t go well, nothing happens.
“Argentina isn’t just Messi,” the 33-year-old added. “They have very good players in all areas.”
