Higuain not thinking of Barca

Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain is focused on the World Cup, not speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona.

Reports in Spain say the former Real Madrid forward is to leave Napoli for a return to La Liga with the Catalans, but speaking after helping his country beat Bosnia-Herzegovina in their tournament opener, Higuain said his mind was set on the tournament at hand.

“Right now I don’t know anything about Barcelona, my head is in the national team,” Mundo Deportivo reports Higuain as saying.

“After the World Cup, we’ll see.”

Higuain added that the vast numbers of Argentines in Brazil and in the stadium last night was a spur for a better performance.

“The support has been an asset and a joy. It’s very nice to have people close to us,” he continued.

“We looked into the stands and saw it was full of Argentines. Luckily we were able to give them the win.”
