Joselu to make Madrid return?

Real Madrid are considering re-signing Joselu from Hoffenheim in a deal similar to that of Dani Carvajal’s time at Leverkusen.

The forward was sold to the Bundesliga club in 2012 and spent a season with Hoffenheim before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.

AS reports that Madrid’s buy-back clause expires this summer and now he has had the experience of regular football at a high level, Los Blancos could exercise their option.

Joselu would this year cost €12m – up from last summer’s €8m – but after June 30, the option will have expired.

The 20-year-old scored 14 goals for Frankfurt last season and played in the Europa League, leading Madrid to look upon the cantera product as a potential replacement for Alvaro Morata, should he leave Santiago Bernabeu this year.

Joselu has a number of other suitors, however, including teams in Spain, Germany and Italy, and Madrid have yet to make the move to bring him back.

Carvajal was sold to Leverkusen and then re-signed 12 months later, eventually breaking into the Madrid and Spain line-ups this season.
