Barcelona target Mehdi Benatia has criticised the contract offer made by his current club, Roma.
AS cites a report from Gazzetta dello Sport that quotes the centre-back as dismissing the terms of the deal, comparing the offer made to how adults treat children.
“[Sporting director Walter] Sabatini told me he liked my attitude and said we’d speak at the end of the season,” Benatia revealed.
“But the proposal is unacceptable. I’ve heard out there that I asked for €4m. We haven’t even reached €3m yet.
“The club told me: Here, here’s a few more pennies, like a child. That’s all.”
AS notes that France Football named Barca as meeting with Benatia’s agent as recently as Monday.
