Atletico Madrid captain Gabi offered his congratulations to Real Madrid after Los Blancos claimed the Champions League.
Madrid won 4-1, scoring three goals in extra-time after Atletico took the lead in the first-half. Sergio Ramos equalised in the 93rd minute before Gareth Bale, Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo added to the score.
“It's football. They had the time, they levelled, and extra-time made us very tired,” Terra Deportes reports Gabi as telling reporters on the final whistle.
“They mastered it and they won. Congratulations because they are deserving winners.
"We competed as far as we could and we've competed for a year as animals. I'm proud of this team."
