Argentina Coach Alejandro Sabella says Lionel Messi’s mind is very much now focused on the forthcoming World Cup.
The Barcelona talisman has drawn criticism for some of his performances this season for the Catalan giants, but recently signed a new contract at Camp Nou.
Speaking to Argentine outlet Ole, the tactician has no worries about his player’s mental state and also discussed the exploits of another of his compatriots, Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone.
“I always have an example of a great Coach who today is at the pinnacle of world football. Today that is ‘Cholo’ Simeone,” Sabella said.
“Every time they ask him, all he is thinking about is the next training session and the next game. To me, that is absolutely key.
“Now that Messi has finished his League season, his mind is focused on the World Cup.”
