English newspaper The Metro report that Real Madrid are preparing a bid of €73.5m for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan has been in sensational form for the Reds this season, scoring 31 goals and getting 21 assists in 32 Premier League appearances.
The 27-year-old signed a new contract with the Anfield club last December that will last until 2018. However, this is claimed to have merely been to give the Merseysiders the guarantee of a huge fee in the event of his departure.
Any potential bid for Suarez is likely to depend on whether Los Blancos decide to sell Karim Benzema, with the France international’s goals and assist tallies being a long way off those of Suarez.
With Alvero Morata also set to leave Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, there is the possibility that Madrid may even offer Benzema in part-exchange to Liverpool in a bid to land Suarez.
