Atletico Madrid star Arda Turan has revealed how much he has developed under the guidance of Rojiblancos Coach Diego Simeone.
Speaking to Turkey’s edition of Four Four Two, the 27-year-old also spoke of how happy he is with the Rojiblancos and stressed that hard work is far more important than sheer talent.
“We understand each other just by looking at each other,” Turan said of his boss. “When the Champions League hymn was playing he looked at me and while we were walking out on to the pitch I whispered in his ear – ‘I have grown thanks to you.’
“This is a big club and I feel so at home with our fans and the people around here.
“I never thought we would be able to be ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid going into the final games.
“But on the last day, when we play Barcelona, we will play as if we were playing Madrid. We are not scared of anyone.
“Football is 30 per cent talent and 70 per cent work. If you work hard, you play well. Raul Garcia is an example of this. If one day I ever write a book, he will have a place in it.”
