Pep Guardiola has dismissed speculation linking Javi Martinez with a move from Bayern Munich to Barcelona.
It had previously been reported that Barca wanted to sign the former Athletic Bilbao defender-midfielder and that Martinez was open to the move.
But Sport reports Guardiola has ruled out any chance of the Spain international leaving the Allianz Arena this summer.
“Javi Martinez will stay at Bayern and play well with us,” the Coach is quoted as saying.
Guardiola also touched on the midweek Champions League semi-final defeat to Real Madrid and gave a pointed retort to the critics of his approach.
“I’m not here to change German football culture but I have my own eyes,” the ex-Barca boss said.
“Bayern will continue to play with my ideas.
“We have to look at what we did wrong against Madrid and think about the future.”
