Ronaldo: La Decima good obsession

Cristiano Ronaldo says the prospect of Real Madrid winning their tenth Champions League title is an obsession, but a good one.

The Portuguese made his comeback from injury on Wednesday as his side beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in the semi-final first leg of the competition and revealed Los Blancos are confident of finishing the job next week.

He also claimed he is fully focused on winning silverware for his club side between now and the end of the season before turning his attentions to this summer’s World Cup.

“La Decima has eventually become an obsession, but a good one!” Ronaldo told the Press.

“The World Cup will not influence anything in terms of the remainder of the season. I am concentrating on La Liga and the Champions League. We have won the cup and we want to win the other two.

“The Champions League is the toughest one to win.

“The return leg with Bayern will be a similar match. Bayern are an excellent team, we have a small advantage and we will try to use it.

“It will be difficult, but we have our strengths. The team are confident and we are going to try to score.

“Playing in the final in Lisbon would be a dream for me. I don’t want to think about it because we still have the return leg, but we are dreaming of being there and I think we will do it.

“I see my national team as like a family. So when I go to play for them I always try to enjoy it.

“It’s always a source of pride to represent my country and to sing the national anthem.

“We’re not the favourites for the World Cup, which is good, but we are going to enjoy it.

“We have a tough group but we will take it step by step.”
