Sergio Ramos has praised Iker Casillas after the goalkeeper made a late save to maintain Real Madrid’s 1-0 lead over Bayern Munich.
Madrid duly held on to the advantage provided by Karim Benzema’s early goal to take a victory from the Champions League semi-final first-leg.
Ramos admitted he was in awe of Casillas, who he feels rises to the occasion whenever necessary.
“We know how good he is. If anything we have two great goalkeepers,” AS reports Ramos as saying post-match.
“He has already given us a trophy and he reappears at key moments.
“The 1-0 is satisfactory, a good result to take to Munich.
“Bayern have amazing players but we’re pleased with the result and our performance. Clearly though 1-0 isn’t definitive.
“The atmosphere was amazing. I’m Madridista, I’ve been here almost 10 years, and it’s unforgettable.
“Records are there to be broken, with the players, humility and enthusiasm.”
