Guardiola: Madrid always difficult

Pep Guardiola is wary that Real Madrid will pose a real threat to his Bayern Munich side in the Champions League next week.

The German champions face Los Blancos in the first leg of their European Cup semi-final on Wednesday, and the Coach has admitted that Carlo Ancelotti’s men will be a tough opponent.

“Madrid are always a difficult side to play,” he told a Press conference ahead of their League clash with Eintracht Braunschweig this weekend.

“They will come into the game as cup winners and be confident in themselves. What happened in the cup doesn't matter, because they'll be a hard opponent, just like Chelsea and Atlético.

“It's an important game for the players, technical staff and the entire world. For this it will be difficult.

“We're thinking about Real Madrid, but right now we've got to take on Eintracht.”

The Spanish Coach also confirmed that Manuel Neuer will miss this weekend’s domestic action, in order to rest for next week.

“He will say in Munich to rest for the Champions League game. He's getting better day upon day.”
