Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone has described his team’s match with Elche at the weekend as a final.
The Rojiblancos lead La Liga by three points from arch-rivals Real Madrid with five matches of the season remaining.
“I see the match with Elche as a final,” Simeone said at a Press-conference today. “No one should tell us how to approach and play the match.
“It’s normal that you write what you want, but the only thing that concerns us is winning the match in the best way possible.
“All we are concentrating on is winning a tough match against what is an organised team.
“They want to secure safety as soon as possible and the only thing important to us is making sure that the match is played the way we want it to be.
“We need to concentrate on how to play with intensity and be competitive.”
Simeone then answered questions on the fitness of Arda Turan and Diego Costa.
“They are both working. Arda is still not training with the group but could be back today. The others are all fine.”
