Cruyff: No plan at Barca for years

Johan Cruyff has claimed that Barcelona have been ‘without a plan for years’ after a bad week for the club.

The Blaugrana lost to Atletico Madrid to crash out of the Champions League, and also went down to Granada to slip to third in the League.

And with the Camp Nou outfit also banned from buying players by FIFA after breaking rules regarding the purchase of under-18s, the Netherlands legend has hit out at the hierarchy.

“Barcelona have been without a coherent for years,” he told Croatian newspaper Jutarnji List.

“[The players] have been under bad influences from under the dressing room.

“Over the past four or five years there have been catastrophic errors in the management.

“It’s no surprise that they haven’t maintained the form that saw them dominant Europe.”

The ex-Barca forward and Coach though, refused to criticise Lionel Messi for a recent dip in form.

“How can it be that Messi was uninterested [in the game against Atlético] if just 10 days ago in the Clásico he was extremely up for it and the best player on the pitch?

“He made everything happen, he scored three goals, he was in charge and played amazingly. It’s one thing or another, not both.”
