Barca in pole for Gundogan – report

Barcelona are in pole position to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund, according to reports in the British Press.

The Daily Express, citing ‘reports in Spain’, claim that Blaugrana doctor Richard Pruna was in Germany this week to check up on the midfielder.

The youngster has been out since August with a mysterious back injury, but all indications are that he is on the mend and ready to return in time for next season.

This long lay-off hasn’t put off the Blaugrana, who sent their medical expert to visit Gundogan this week.

The paper writes that Tata Martino’s men are now favourites to sign the Dortmund man, ahead of Real Madrid and Manchester United.
