Martino: No change at Bernabeu

Tata Martino has said Barcelona won’t change the way they play when up against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu.

Next Sunday sees the sides meet in the final League Clasico of the season and Barca will go into the game on the back of a 7-0 win over Osasuna.

Martino told reporters after routing the Pamplona side that he will look for the same approach in Madrid.

“I don’t want there to be any doubt about the way we’ll play in the Bernabeu,” Martino said.

“We won’t change the performance from the way we’ve played today. I’ve almost decided the team.”

The Argentine explained his reasons behind not fielding Neymar at all, with the Brazil forward on the bench throughout.

“There’s been a problem of lack of continuity and Neymar took it. It seemed more prudent to give minutes to Pedro and Alexis,” Martino argued.

He also referenced the rumours that persist regarding his future, insisting nothing has been decided either way.

“Every day I speak with [sporting director Andoni] Zubizarreta. We talk about everything.

“I don’t want to say anything publically about a meeting,” he added when asked if they had met to discuss his potential departure this summer.

“We’re planning on renewals for [Andres Iniesta], [Marc Bartra] and [Christian Tello]. We’re planning on signing a goalkeeper and a central defender too.”
