Atletico Madrid captain Gabi says his side are ready to fight until he end of the season in both La Liga and the Champions League.
The Rojiblancos are three points behind league leaders and arch rivals Real Madrid and are through to the quarter-finals of Europe’s premier club competition.
“We have won the respect of everyone,” Gabi told the media at an event to raise awareness for prostate cancer.
“We have a desire to keep our fans dreaming and no one can take that away from us.
“We are a very hard working team and what we have achieved we have earned by working hard.
“It has cost us a lot to reach the position we are in now.
“We are where we want to be apart from not being in the final of the Copa del Rey.
“But we are in a great position to be able to fight until the end of the season in all competitions.
“I think Atletico have made an incredible effort and now we want to fight until the end.
“Without doubt this is a vital period for the league because there are few matchdays left.
“If we can get through the next four games there won’t be long left.
“The league will be decided from here until the end and we will do all we can to be up there.”
