Cristiano Ronaldo has been named as the richest footballer on the planet in a list published this week.
Goal.com have published a top 10 of the world’s highest paid players in 2014, and have revealed that the Real Madrid has come out on top with a whopping €148m.
The Goal Rich List is collated by a team of analysts and takes into account all streams of revenue for active footballers over the course of their careers.
Only current professionals are eligible with the earnings of more than 200 contenders assessed before Goal’s experts finalised on their selection.
The Portugal international has beaten Lionel Messi, who is just piped to second place, whilst fellow Barcelona star Neymar is in sixth position, earning €80m.
