Jese: Cristiano taught me ambition

Real Madrid forward Jese has revealed training alongside Cristiano Ronaldo has shown him the drive he needs to have to succeed.

Marca cites an interview the youngster has given to Champions magazine in which he talks of what he has learned from Ronaldo, Coach Carlo Ancelotti and his Madrid teammates.

“Ancelotti is a winner who always wants more from the team,” Jese said.

“That is very important. It has helped me improve myself tactically.

“If I continue like this then I’ll have a place in the team.”

This season has been Jese’s breakthrough campaign, the 20-year-old making 17 appearances and scoring four goals.

The Canary Islands-born attacker added that every one of his more senior Madrid colleagues have helped him since he graduated to the first team.

“Every time I’m among the first team squad all the players treat me very well and everyone has helped me a lot.

“What I have learned most from Cristiano is the ambition he shows each day.”

But despite his tender age and vaulted company, Jese doesn’t feel under pressure at Santiago Bernabeu.

“I cope quite well because we always have the fans’ support.

“The fans are very demanding and every game is a constant review, not only for the young players but the ones with more experience too.

“But we always try to do our best,” Jese concluded.
