Postiga to have Lazio medical

Valencia striker Helder Postiga is to have a medical in Rome ahead of a loan move to Lazio.

Postiga is said to be concerned for his place in Portugal’s World Cup squad and keen to leave Los Che this month to play more regularly.

The 31-year-old has made 20 appearances for Valencia this season but has featured somewhat sporadically under Juan Antonio Pizzi.

Postiga, signed from Zaragoza in 2013, has scored three times for Valencia this year, but hasn’t found the net since the 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in September.

Lazio Coach Edy Reja confirmed his interest in the former Porto forward, Marca reports, praising Postiga as a “technically gifted striker.”

Valencia’s signing of Eduardo Vargas from Napoli is said to be a factor in Postiga’s desire to leave as he expects first team places to be further limited for the rest of the season.
