Lionel Messi was the difference-maker in Barcelona’s Copa del Rey win over Getafe, the Madrid side’s Coach has said.
Luis Garcia pointed to the contribution of the Argentina forward as decisive after Messi scored four goals in the 6-0 aggregate win, two at Camp Nou and two at Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
“With a guy that scores so many goals, how do you stop him?” Garcia asked rhetorically at his post-match Press conference.
“It is a question I talk to other Coaches about. He’s hard to stop.
“When [Messi] gets started, he creates panic. You have to play the perfect game.
“We’ve not been too bad against Barca.”
Asked what he made of Messi’s second goal, a mazy dribble and finish past the goalkeeper, Garcia responded in ironic fashion.
“I haven’t seen it…it was too fast.
“He’s done it against so many teams. People say you can stop him with fouls but you can’t, he just keeps going.”
