Diego Maradona has warned Argentina not to blame Lionel Messi, should they not win the World Cup this summer.
The Argentines are seen as one of the contenders for the title when they head out to Brazil, but their former player and Coach, who led them at the 2010 edition of the tournament, has warned expectation should not just be placed on their No 10.
“I do not seen the national team since I left,” Maradona began on Fansworld.tv this week.
“But all I can say is that if we do not win the World Cup, let’s not blame Messi.
“I know that Messi is going to be great, he will play very well, but let’s not blame Messi.”
