Pep Guadiola says that the years of success achieved at Barcelona under his coaching was not his era, but that of Lionel Messi.
Under the tactician between 2008 and 2012, the Catalans won 14 titles and attention still remains on that period of time, for the team’s development since under Tito Vilanova and then Tata Martino.
For the 42-year-old, though, the era should not be attributed to just him.
“More than an era of Guardiola, it was an era of Messi,” reflected Guardiola to reporters at a conference in Dubai this week.
The current Bayern Munich Coach also mused on his future, with further reference to his past.
“My dream is to train young players again. The thing that we experienced with Barcelona B was pure football.”
