Barcelona’s players have broken for the holidays, with a first return date of December 30 set for non-foreign squad members.
On from yesterday defeating Getafe 5-2 at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez to maintain their place at the top of La Liga to end 2013, the Catalans have released their players for the Christmas period.
Players will generally have to report back for training on December 30 so as to begin preparations for January 5’s return to League action against Elche.
However, there will be absences, as the Catalan national team are playing a friendly the same day against Cabo Verde, and are expected to involve some Barcelona players.
However, foreign members of the squad who are travelling abroad for the break are not expected back until January 2. Jonathan dos Santos and Adriano are staying in Spain so are not included in this extension.
