Tests this afternoon have confirmed that Xavi has suffered a calf strain and will miss Barcelona’s game with Cartagena in the Copa del Rey.
The Blaugrana host the third tier team at Camp Nou, holding a 4-1 lead from the first leg.
However, Tata Martino’s men will be without the veteran midfielder for the return clash after a scan on Sunday confirmed that the Spain international had suffered a calf strain.
Xavi sat out the game against Villarreal on Saturday, but only now has the injury been revealed.
He is likely to be fit for the clash with Getafe next weekend though
