Reports in the British and Spanish Press have claimed that Barcelona could bid for Robin van Persie in January.
Stories have emerged in England over the weekend that the Dutch striker has become disgruntled at Old Trafford following the team’s poor performance since the arrival of David Moyes in the summer.
And the Mirror, backed up by Catalan daily Sport, insist that Tata Martino’s men may try and exploit the situation by going in for the striker.
Van Persie has been the Premier League’s top goalscorer for the past two seasons, but has struggled this term in an inconsistent United team.
With rumours of discontent, the Blaugrana are thought to be looking into the possibility of bringing the Netherlands international to Camp Nou.
Manchester United however, have vehemently denied that the forward is unhappy, and are unlikely to want to sell one of their star players.
