Alba rejoins main group

Jordi Alba has stepped up his recovery from consecutive injuries by rejoining his Barcelona teammates in today’s training.

The full-back has been out of action since September after suffering successive thigh strains in each leg, but was thought ready to rejoin his teammates two weeks ago.

However, this return was delayed until today, where the 24-year-old has for the first time since injury, taken part in training alongside his colleagues.

The news is a boost for Barcelona, who will be without Adrian for their next League fixture through suspension.

Andres Iniesta sat out today’s session with a sore hamstring, whilst Xavi Hernandez worked separately.
