Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has insisted that Franck Ribery should be ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the Ballon d’Or race.
The French winger has been shortlisted for the annual FIFA prize along with the Clasico duo, but the German striker has claimed that the Roten wide man should be named as the best in the world.
“Ribery has already been named as the best player in Europe,” he told L’Equipe.
“Bayern won everything last season and that’s why someone from our team deserves to win the trophy.
“Ribery didn’t score as many goals as the other two, but that’s because he puts in more effort for the team and also creates opportunities for others.”
