Sevilla President Jose Maria del Nido has taken the chance to send a message to Jose Antonio Reyes after the derby win over Real Betis.
Former Arsenal man Reyes was one of the stars of the 4-0 victory after being handed a rare starting role by boss Unai Emery.
However, Del Nido believes he must do more to justify his place in the side in the eyes of Sevilla fans.
“It doesn’t mean anything if he only does it in one match. On Sunday at Los Carmenes [against Granada] he’s got to play like that again.
“We hope he can carry on performing as he did because it’s something we demand of a player of his quality,” he told Canal Plus.
Del Nido also made reference to Carlos Bacca, scorer of the opening goal, and Diego Perotti, who has been jeered by a section of the Sanchez Pizjuan crowd in recent weeks.
“Carlos is going to be a big star in the world of football within a couple of years, and I was delighted the crowd did not jeer Perotti.
“I say you should cheer anyone who wears a Sevilla shirt and Perotti is one of the best players we have at the club.”
