Pinto to Neymar against Granada

Neymar spearheads Barcelona’s attack, Martin Montoya and Marc Bartra start in defence and Jose Manuel Pinto deputises in goal against Granada.

The Catalans lost Victor Valdes and Dani Alves over the international break to injury and saw Cristian Tello and Xavi Hernandez left out of this weekend’s squad after failing to recover in time from minor complaints also sustained in the last fortnight.

For Saturday afternoon’s home tie with Granada, Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas, though, do make the first XI despite disrupted training through the international break.

Carles Puyol is a named substitute alongside the likes of Javier Mascherano and Alex Song.

Meanwhile, Lucas Alcaraz, who is looking for a third consecutive League win with his Granada side, is able to hand Piti a first League start since the end of August, with the forward replacing Diego Buonanotte.

Allan Nyom returns from suspension at full-back in place of Brayan Angulo, but the other nine to start are those who began Granada’s Week 13 win over Malaga two weeks ago.

Starting line-ups

Barcelona: Pinto; Montoya, Pique, Bartra, Adriano; Fabregas, Busquets, Iniesta; Pedro, Neymar, Alexis

Granada: Roberto; Nyom, Diakhaté, Murillo, Foulquier; Iturra, Recio, Rico; Brahimi, Piti, El-Arabi
