Valencia have accepted
Sofiane Feghouli’s reasons for his delayed return from international duty
with Algeria in midweek.
Los Che have received a communication from the Algerian Football Federation informing them the winger was required to attend a reception with the country’s Prime Minister, and have therefore decided to take no action against the player.
It followed Algeria’s 3-3 aggregate draw with Burkina Faso that ensured the African nation qualified for next year’s World Cup finals in Brazil on the away goals rule.
“After listening to the explanations and receiving an official communication from the Algerian Football Federation to the same effect, the delay in Feghouli’s return to work was through no fault of his own,” read a Valencia statement.
