‘Ronaldo’s doing extraordinary things’

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he ‘expects’ Crisitano Ronaldo to claim the Ballon d’Or in January.

The Real Madrid forward is one of the favourites for the annual FIFA prize, and the Coach has claimed that the Portugal international is worthy of the award.

“Cristiano is doing extraordinary things,” he told Radio Deejay. “Does he does the Ballon d’Or? Absolutely.

“I expect him to win the award. He is a serious professional, who cares about every detail of his game.

“If others want to be great champions, they should look at Cristiano.”

The Italian then commented on Raphael Varane and rumours that Andrea Pirlo could join Los Blancos.

“Varane is a great talent. He may have made a few mistakes against Juventus, but he’s a great player.

“He’s been out for four to five months with a knee injury, but has all the qualities to become a truly great defender.

“Will Pirlo come to Madrid? No. Although he is still one of the best.”
