Carlo Ancelotti has claimed he will ‘stage a sit-in’ if Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t win the Ballon d’Or.
The Real Madrid record-breaker is, alongside Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery, one of the favourites to win the annual FIFA prize.
And the Italian Coach has insisted that the Portugal international should claim the award.
“If they don’t give it to Cristiano I’ll stage a sit-in in Reggiolo [the city of his birth in Italy],” he told Radio 24.
“No one deserves the prize more than him. He’s a model professional.
“If he didn’t look after every detail, his physique too, he wouldn’t be able to achieve the things he does.”
The tactician then commented on life at Santiago Bernabeu, and Barcelona’s lead at the top of the Liga.
“At a big club the problems change and are bigger off the field.
“To build a playing system, a coach has to adapt to the players he has. The players have to be able to feel comfortable within a playing system.
“The six-point gap to Barcelona will be hard to overturn, but we feel we’re at their level.”
