Lionel Messi has released a message of thanks for support in his latest injury, as the Barcelona man identifies ‘recovering well’ as his priority.
The Argentine is beginning a six-to-eight-week process to come back from a torn muscle suffered at the weekend in the back of his left thigh.
As Argentine national team physiotherapist Luis Garcia flew into Catalonia on Tuesday afternoon to begin overseeing that, the player posted a message online to offer an update.
“As many of you know, over the next few weeks I will be completely involved in recovering from this latest injury,” Messi wrote via his official Facebook page.
“For me it is a shame not to be playing with my team right now…
“Now the most important thing is to recover well to help my teammates and return all the love of my people in the best way I know how, playing football.
“Thank you for your messages of support!”
