Dani Alves has insisted that Neymar is ready to step into Lionel Messi’s shoes, claiming that the young Brazilian is ‘the right man’.
The Argentine record-breaker is set to miss the next six to eight weeks through injury, and the full-back has claimed that his countryman will step up to the plate.
“Neymar is always ready,” Alves told Globoesporte.
“He knows how important he is for Barca and that he was brought just in case something like this happened.
“With Messi out injured, someone has to take over his role and Neymar is ready to do that.
“For the player he is and for the quality he has, he’s the right man for the job and I am sure that he will respond positively.
“Neymar likes to eat well and happily, we live in a city which has very good cuisine. He has already been to a few restaurants which I recommended to him although some of them are difficult to go to because they are so popular.
“Occasionally, we have to go in disguise so that the public don’t recognize us at the door”.
